Ranveer Singh Files FIR Against AI Generated Deepfake Video

Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh was the recent victim of the Deepfake after celebrities like Rashmika Mandanna and Aamir Khan. An AI generated video of Ranveer has gone viral in which he is seen promoting a political party. This incident and many such incidents are happening more frequently as we are in the middle of Lok Sabha elections. 

Ranveer Singh had recently visited Varanasi with Kriti Sanon and Manish Malhotra for a fashion show and the viral video showing him giving an interview and supporting a political party started doing the rounds. Although the video seemed genuine at first, the audio is of an AI-enabled voice clone of the actor. The actor’s official spokesperson has confirmed that the actor has filed an FIR against the viral video and the matter has also reached the Cyber Cell. The spokesperson said, “Yes, we have filed the police complaint and an FIR has been lodged against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated Deepfake video of Mr. Ranveer Singh.”
